I love SuperCorp and SuperReignCorp and this means that the one obvious ship that I have so far not covered is ReignCorp / Samantha “Sam” Arias/Lena Luthor.
This ship that is based on their friendship and the obvious chemistry and holds so many promises about a shared past and / or future.
While for me ReignCorp was always Samantha “Sam” Arias/Lena Luthor, it can also mean Lena and (a reformed world killer or AU) Reign. As there is a limited amount of fic, in this Supergirl femslash fanfiction recommendation, I cover both variants of this ship.

Lena Luthor, in the context of Sam Arias.
Surprisingly this story is pretty much canon compliant – until close to the very end. As the show gives only bits and pieces about Sam’s and Lena’s backstory, the author creates a (canon) consistent world around these pieces in which Lena and Sam met when Lena was managing her first merger for LuthorCorp. There is quite a bumpy ride for Lena and Sam until they finally get together.
This is an amazing, very well written story. Loved it.

Sam and Lena reunite in national city –
flashbacks to their first meeting in grad school and some of their past friendship/relationship. a lot of feelings, because they are absolutely fantastic. also drunk karaoke and making out, because…obviously.
This is an amazing and beautifully written ReignCorp fic that tells the story how Lena and Sam first met at university. A story that shows us how perfect Lena and Sam could be together.
If you always wanted to but have never tried a ReignCorp fic, this might me the one you have been waiting for. I adore this story and hope there will be many more in the series.

These two wonderfully detailed fics tell the stories of Lena’s and Sams’s past. How they met, how they took care of each other and how they fell in love.
I love these stories and they are somewhat compliant with the show’s canon. Which I find bittersweet, because if this is indeed canon Sam’s and Lena’s history, it is kind of tragic that they did not end together.
The Sam/Lena road trip AU
Sam had always shipped her two friends, Kara and Lena. Frustrated with the gay idiots, she planned to make a road trip to bring them together. Unknowingly, during the trips, old feelings came up and the result was surprising.
(It’s an emotional ride, so stick with me till the end, would ya?)
Above all Sam wants Lena to be happy and find love, even if she finds it not with her but with Kara. The scene in which Sam leaves a message for Kara after she thinks that she has finally lost Lena to her is heartbreaking.
I loved the interaction between Ruby and Lena, that Ruby calls her Mommie, and how much Ruby ships Lena and Sam.
A beautiful and well written story with a powerful climax. And a true Sam/Lena happy ending

Lena sets Sam free and in the process of taking care of her, they find there is something more between them, but are they willing to admit it?
Told partially from Lena’s and Sam’s POV this story is set in present day of season 3. It initially follows canon, then diverges when Lena saves Sam and splits of (and deals with) Reign.
Reign plays bigger role in this one than in the other stories. Kara has a small role (only a bit prominently in the beginning) and I am very happy that this story does not leave behind a heartbroken Kara. Interestingly Alex has a bigger role than Kara and we get background Sanvers and a Sanvers fix it as well.
This is a well written story that I enjoyed. I especially loved Sam’s and Lena’s banter.

Lena has to deal with homophobia after her step-daughter, Ruby, comes home from school very upset with one of her teachers. Lena always thought she was one of the lucky ones who had never had to deal with their hatred, their bigotry, their misguidedness up close. She especially never thought she’d be dealing with it now after the passing of her late wife. Still, loving Sam taught her the power of humility and grace, perhaps it is a lesson she might be able to teach somebody else.
A touching story from your favourite slut.
This is less a romance story but more a story how Lena is struggling to be Ruby‘s single parent after her wife Sam had died; but this is also the story how Lena is struggling with Church / Christian teaching induced homophobia.
This is a well written and sad story but surely not for everyone. read the author’s notes carefully for (trigger) warnings.

When Kara bails on another meet up with Lena, someone new steps up to improve Lena’s evening. Kara is still trying to process the aftermath of the invasion, and the tensions that arise in her friendship with Lena. In other words, how the teased ‘special connection’ between Lena and Reign might happen in Season 3.
Told from Lena’s and Kara’s point of view, this is probably more a story of the end of Lena’s and Kara’s friendship than a love story, although there is a love story between Lena and Reyna.
This is an angsty and somewhat sad story, but it mostly is a powerful portrait of a friendship that is crumbling and (almost?) dying.
In contrast to many other stories where Lena ends up with another woman than Kara, the focus is less on unrequited love with Kara, but friendship.
There is a happy ending of sorts. This is a powerful story and well written story that I enjoyed.

Lena could only stare at Sam’s newest text, unsure what to do next.
Sam and Lena’s interactions feels pretty close to canon. In this no powers AU the Luthors are not evil and Lena and Sam have different jobs. There is Kara/Mike and unrequited love/pining of Lena over Kara.
I enjoyed this well written medium length story.
To be honest I am a bit conflicted about the next two stories. While they ultimately turned out not to be for me, they are worth checking out if you are into ReignCorp.
They come in two distinct flavors of Lena/Reign AU:
Collateral Damage is a well written AU in which canon Reign survived the events of Season 3.
While in Abandon Hope her name is Reign and she is an alien, and while she is (kind of) a world killer, she shares not that many similarities with canon Reign. This story was started after SDCC 2017 but before season 3 aired.

It seemed almost resigned to its fate and Lena wondered just how it had struggled and how terrified it had been flying through the air.
